Disclaimer Disclaimer Product is limited to North America region activation/installation only. Pros: Fast, efficient, easy to use from a user point of view. Theres lots of things going on behind the scenes that they dont tell you however. Hidden keyboard shortcuts, the ones your cats find when they run across your keyboard and all of a sudden your screen is gray, all of it. As a gamer, however, the built in gaming mode i find unique. Easy to record any clips of games or etc, not sure if the gaming mode actually improves performance but it works well enough.

Recently I discovered how nice Microsoft is by providing all kinds of ways to make a boot disk/iso/bootable usb. After a hideous fight with the evil anti elvis, gremlins and my own mistakes, restoring win 10 went smoothly and I didnt loose much data.

Thank heavens MS thought about such events and saved a backup of the program files folder and the appdata folder. Cons: Sometimes, the learning curve is a bit steep.

Hidden features can accidentally be turned on then you spend 20 minutes on google to sort out the issue. Difficult to *cough* read the manual on the OS when there really isnt one. Tech/geek wise, the tools win10 comes with leave a lot to be desired. Chkdsk works just fine but if you run the standard HDD check util, you get almost no feedback, OR the results are tossed into the lovely cpu wasting, and confusing event viewer. Pray there isnt a power loss during a patch though. I realize this is the part where other users say 'you need a power backup' and yes, you are right, unless you are on a budget. IF windows gets a corrupted driver or patch, its literally geek hell trying to get things fixed.

Most recent issue i had is 'something' fouled up the graphics driver, it became corrupted. Due to that this user thought it was just a glitch and hit the power button. I had No idea windows was trying to patch or this or that due to my screen fouling up. (no it wasnt hardware, or thermal issues. Yes I checked.) After the reboot all kinds of chaos happened. It would log in but then log out, screen would flash to black then back to color, then back and fourth.

It took me a bit to realize SAFE MODE.is gone. No more F8 during boot. Its you holding the shift key and attempting to click the power icon on the login screen. After that the machine locked up.

So i rebooted, which resulted in a corrupted system file, which led to a boot loop. Not even Chkdsk could fix it, so i lost data, and several hours.

I ended up having to do a full reset, just to get windows to work again. Luckily I didnt loose too much data, just had to reinstall software and set them up. Firefox worried me but, ms saved the old profile data so recovering my passwords and such was.painless. Other Thoughts: Win 10 is a good os all the way around, but be prepared for a major learning curve. Always, with every OS, make a backup of your files once things are just the way you want. You never know when a driver will fail, or something will corrupt and you end up with a problem. Also with the times, as we use the internet for almost everything.
